Breeding and Research Services

What is it?

CGIAR biometrical genetics workflowBioflowor Breeding Analytics Pipeline, enables users to access methods for understanding or using evolutionary forces (mutation, gene flow, migration and selection) such as automatic state-of-the-art genetic evaluation (selection force) in decision making. Designed to be databaseagnostic, it can retrieve data from the available phenotypic-pedigree databases (EBS, BMS, BreedBase), genotypic databases (GIGWA), and environmental databases (NASAPOWER), and carry out analytical procedures.

Who is it for?

Organizational leadership, crop breeders, geneticists and technicians can use Bioflow to incorporate evolutionary forces in their decision making.

What type of analyses can it do?

1) Data cleaning

2) Single trial analysis for quality assurance

3) Multi-trial analysis using genomic and environmental information

4) Selection indices for parental selection and product advancement

5) Optimal cross selection for crossing block planning

6) Realized and predicted genetic gain for monitoring performance of breeding pipelines

7) Additional data management functionalities are available.
