Research: Overview
Digital Innovation works with more than 70 multidisciplinary researchers across 20 CGIAR Rresearch Initiatives to research pathways and best practices for digital innovations. This evidence is applied across 40 Initiative projects and with partner organizations in 10 priority countries, leveraging CGIAR’s digital research and development partnerships with technology leaders.
Digital Innovation research activities are organized around three flagships:
- The Digital Co-Lab, which brings a collection of research, collaboration, and training activities that aim to support our partners to achieve enabling digital innovation in agri-food systems.
- Building Digital Twins for timely decision-making in agrifood systems. A suite of case studies will be developed to incorporate real-time monitoring data into decision-support systems.
- The Digital Inclusion Framework will provide a set of metrics on the digital divide in agri-food systems and best practices to promote gender equity in the digital ecosystem.
