Initiative:
Fragility to Resilience in Central and West Asia and North Africa
Facilitating climate-resilient food and nutrition security
This area of work focuses on facilitating the availability of genetic innovations that are explicitly developed to meet the demands of region. This includes an inclusive and efficient seed system for quick varietal turnover and on-farm management and ex-situ conservation of agrobiodiversity underpinned by more effective enabling environments.
Researchers are working to develop an integrated network of information, tools, and innovations that includes colleagues from CGIAR initiatives including Accelerated Breeding, Market Intelligence and Seed Equal as well as regional stakeholders via National Alliances of Stakeholders (NASs) and National Innovation Platforms (NIPs).
