Mixed Farming Systems
Status, trends, and future dynamics of mixed farming systems
Analyzing status, trends, and adaptations in mixed farming systems entails identifying their present economic, social, and environmental roles at different scales, as well as the key drivers of change, such as climate, population pressure, consumer behavior, taking into account social inequalities. From this assessment, researchers identify entry points for equitable, sustainable intensification to mitigate negative impacts of change and seize emerging opportunities. They are able to generate knowledge and evidence for informed policy development and strategic financial investments and help identify innovative, gender-transformative sustainable intensification strategies and implementation pathways.
