Colombia BioConecta is a digital platform to promote collaboration with leading academic, scientific and environmental institutions in Valle del Cauca, Colombia, dedicated to fostering international cooperation and positive environmental impact. The platform integrates 20 institutions in one place, and its mission is to highlight the topics of conservation and study of biodiversity carried out by each of them.
Cali, August 5, 2024. In the framework of COP16, Colombia BioConecta, a digital platform composed of 20 institutions, was born to highlight the work and topics of conservation and study of biodiversity led by academic, scientific, and environmental entities of Valle del Cauca.
This digital platform is made up of the Universidad Nacional, Universidad del Valle, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Autónoma, Universidad de San Buenaventura, Universidad Libre, Universidad Santiago de Cali, and Universidad Icesi, as well as the Network of Universities for Innovation in Valle del Cauca (RUPIV, by its initials in Spanish). Other organizations involved include the research centers Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, Cenicaña, Agrosavia, the Humboldt Institute, Invemar, and Corporación Biotec, as well as National Natural Parks of Colombia, Parque Explora, Cali Zoo, Cali Botanical Garden, and the Corporación Autónoma Regional del Valle.
