Conservation agriculture is helping farmers adapt to climate change: lessons from southern africa

Christian Thierfelder, senior cropping systems agronomist at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), presented on conservation agriculture in southern Africa during a Climate Resilient Agriculture Success Stories webinar held in November 2019. The webinar was organized by the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network. Conservation agriculture is a cropping system comprising different practices including no-till farming, crop residue retention as mulch and crop rotations.
