For the tenth installment of Delta Talks, the CGIAR Initiative on Asian Mega-Deltas (AMD) and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) presented a webinar on food safety in food system transitions in deltas.
Dr. Katja van Dongen of the Wageningen Food Safety Research, WUR, talked about the results of their Deltas Under Pressure research project. She shared how their research looked at the effects of salinity and drought as pressures on primary food production systems in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta region. Looking from a food safety perspective, she discussed what kind of transitions or adaptation strategies can be implemented to mitigate or to deal with these stressors.
