Hack4DigitalVillages Innovation Challenge: Co-creating and prototyping solutions to address critical agricultural challenges of the Fergana Valley of Uzbekistan

CGIAR Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP) join forces with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, and IT Park for the Hack4DigitalVillages Innovation Challenge. As part of FAO’s Digital Villages Initiative (DVI) in Europe and Central Asia, this project is set to transform the agricultural landscape in FAO’s pilot digital villages across the Fergana Valley of Uzbekistan.
From November 24 to 26 at the Fergana branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Hack4DigitalVillages will bring together Fergana’s youth, developers, and agricultural experts to co-create and develop digital solutions, addressing the critical agricultural challenges affecting rural communities in the Fergana region, and enhance best practices of local farmers. Focus areas include greenhouse management, water use efficiency, pesticide control, and agribusiness education.
