In the global efforts to combat hunger, poverty, and environmental degradation in Africa, IITA stands as a pioneering force. Operating as a vital component of the CGIAR system, IITA has been steadfast in its mission since its inception in 1967. The Institute has been working alongside a diverse network of international, regional, and national collaborators, ceaselessly striving to uplift livelihoods, enhance food and nutrition security, strengthen employment opportunities, and safeguard the integrity of natural resources.

In a recent display of resolute dedication to this cause, IITA, Mohammed IV Polytechnic University (UM6P), and the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) have formalized their commitment through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This landmark agreement lays the foundation for developing a One CGIAR Capacity Development Hub at UM6P, indicating a new era of collaborative advancement.
