As part of the strategies to position women as catalysts in the areas of technology and innovation adoption, IITACGIAR is exploring collaboration with the Nigerian Government on implementing the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-up Project (NFWP-SU).NFWP-SU is a flagship program focusing on scaling-up women’s economic empowerment, which will improve their livelihood and help them make better household decisions. The program, funded by the World Bank, would be implemented in four states—Kebbi, Niger, Ogun, and Taraba—targeting smallholder farmers and poor and vulnerable women.

Delegates from the World Bank, the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN), and states’ government staff embarked on a two-day visit to IITA Headquarters in Ibadan on 31 July and 1 August. The visit explored various partnership opportunities with the Institute to ensure a successful project.
