Jordan's water vision 2033 takes shape at "a year of modernization" forum

Integrated solutions plan aims to strengthen management and governance of the country’s water resources.

Dr. Maha Al-Zu’bi, a Regional Researcher and Co-Lead of the CGIAR Initiative on Fragility to Resilience in Central and West Asia and North Africa at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), played a key role in Jordan’s Modernization Vision 2033, which focuses on enhancing water resource management and governance. This vision, unveiled during the “A Year of Modernization” forum, outlines strategies to bolster water supply, rationalize demand, and ensure the sustainability of the country’s scarce water resources. The plan includes measures like water reuse and public-private partnerships for infrastructure development. IWMI, through its Middle East and North Africa regional office and staff in Jordan, continues to support the Kingdom of Jordan in its efforts to achieve water security through research and partnerships, contributing to projects aimed at sustainable water conservation and resilient water systems.
