Devex published an op-ed citing IFPRI’s Nienke Beintema for her study on Female representation in Agricultural Research, in Sub-Saharan Africa. Beintema found that women represented only 24 percent of researchers in agricultural sciences and 17 percent of leaders in that field. “It is important that agricultural research agencies employ a balance of male and female researchers,” Beintema pointed out in the study.
