Rabies challenges faced by malawian frontline workers

Three veterinary students from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences investigated rabies control and dog management practices in Malawi as part of a project led by the Norwegian Veterinary Institute (NVI) to enhance rabies control.

They worked under the guidance of Hannah Joan Jørgensen, a scientist from NVI on joint appointment at the International Livestock Research Institute.

They used focus group discussions and individual interviews to gain insights on the challenges faced in rabies surveillance and control in Malawi, as well as dog management practices and the current state of canine welfare in the country.
