ABOUT KENYA
Welcome to Kenya, nestled on the East Coast of Africa and spanning 582,646 square kilometres across the equator. Strategically located at the crossroads of the Great Lakes, the Horn of Africa, and the Indian Ocean, Kenya serves as a vital gateway to the continent. The country’s diverse climate, ranging from tropical to temperate, supports fertile lands that yield significant exports like tea, coffee, flowers, and various horticultural products. Kenya offers endless opportunities for leisure and sports, complemented by luxurious accommodations in hotels, lodges, resorts, and secure residential areas amidst lush greenery. The Great Rift Valley, a stunning geological wonder visible from space, runs through the country, featuring picturesque lakes and dormant volcanoes. Nairobi, the vibrant capital, known as The Green City in the Sun, uniquely hosts a National Park within its boundaries, blending urban life with rich wildlife, including the highest concentration of black rhinos in Africa.
EXPLORE NAIROBI
Welcome to Nairobi, the vibrant heart and capital city of Kenya. Named after the Maasai phrase Enkare Nairobi, meaning ‘place of cool waters’, it is affectionately known as The Green City in the Sun due to its lush greenery and lively atmosphere. Remarkably, Nairobi is the only metropolis in the world with a National Park within its bounds. Established in 1946, Nairobi National Park is a sanctuary that showcases the city’s dedication to preserving its urban and natural heritage, housing diverse wildlife including Africa’s highest concentration of black rhinos. Located in south-central Kenya, 140 kilometers south of the Equator, Nairobi is surrounded by 113 square kilometers of plains, cliffs, and forests, with the Ngong Hills to the west, Mount Kenya to the north, and Mount Kilimanjaro to the southeast. As the most populous city in East Africa with an estimated population of 3.5 million, Nairobi is the 14th largest city on the continent.
