In a new blog post and video, Bill Gates discusses the essential role the CGIAR system plays in feeding the world.
He highlights the work of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in developing and promoting the use of drought-tolerant maize varieties, noting that improvements making maize more productive and resistant to drought and disease are “a leading example of the amazing work the CGIAR system does to help smallholder farmers.”
