RT published an article on the possible implications of the growing trade tensions between the United States and China. The article quoted IFPRI’s Senior Research Fellow, David Laborde, who warned that trade wars could lead to actual wars, as they exacerbate tensions and affect economic linkages. “When economies are severed and opinions heated with chauvinistic rhetoric, then military action could start,” Laborde said.
